Chinese decoration in Hong Kong

Happy new year, Chinese new year finally arrives, it is a big festival in China, my friends have sent me some photos from Hong Kong about the decoration of Chinese New Year.It was a great chance to know more patteren from the photos and get inspiration again.

Project Proposal

In this few weeks, I start to do the primary and secondary research part. In the primary research, I have to go to the internet and library to search for the information about the culture of China to get more inspiration about what I am going to do, after combining the photos and sketch, I finally decided to design Tang Dynasty fashion as it is really colorful and gorgeous.IN the secondary research, I have found the artists who design Tang Dynasty like Cheung minhua and Chuyan, after getting more information from their design, I started to do the initial design, and go to search for the fabric that suitable for my design, comparing the detail, pattern, cost of them.

In This page, I sketch a simple design of Tang dynasty cloth and explore the structure of it as the photo has shown, the cloth was combined by YAodi, Yupei, RU, Xiui, JIadia, Qing. What a complex structure！！！

Tang Dynasty fashion research

After getting some inspiration from the artists’ research, I search for more photographic of the real old dynasty photos and look for the pattern that is more detail, this research has shown me that women tang dynasty donot have to afraid by traditional code!

Artist research-Cheng Minghua

The second artist research,she was a fashion designer who is also the promoter of the world too Hanfu craftsmanship.Her design giving people the feeling of elegant and generous Cause her design contain the common grass pattern,the women’s clothing Are especially beautiful ,the big flower on the cloth is also one of my favourite part because it has reflected the magnificent of Tang culture. Her designs have inspired me to think of some garment that relate to Tang Dynasty,even only a small part.

Artist research -Chu Yan

Finish~it was a great experience for watching the design of Chu Yan,she was really talent on designing the old Chinese Dynasty cloth,she always insisted on infiltration the donation of culture and art in her design,and pay attention to all the details of the garment,it is full of innovative spirit!i will try to use the skill that how she make the garment on my works.Make sure all the details part of my garment can be made perfectly!

Working process

Woking hard on the artist research💪🏼it use a lot of time for setting the tools for drawing,but design process is always the most interesting part for making a project,look forward for the finished good!
